Who We Are
We are JRT's Helping Hands, a non-profit organization that is family-operated by first-generation, Latin-Americans, born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey.
The letters “JRT” were the initials of our late grandfather, Jacobo Rodriguez Tavarez.
Our Grandfather’s bare hands built the foundation of a strong family. Although his failed heart took him away from us in physical form, he remains in our hearts forever.
It is now our turn to unite our hands and continue to build his legacy.
We are JRT’s grandchildren; the “helping hands” here to do our part for the community we grew up in.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help inner-city impoverished communities through education, mentoring, and financial support.
Our hope is that the people we help always remember to #KEEPGOING and eventually pay it forward to others in need.
